VOICE for Hearing Impaired Children announced today that it will host "Raise Your Voice for VOICE for Hearing Impaired Children" on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 6 pm to 12 am at the iconic Gladstone Hotel located at 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario.
"Raise Your Voice" is a karaoke fundraiser. Guests can sing a song of their choice, or challenge another guest to sing by making a donation. A challenge to sing can be defeated by matching or beating the original donation. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, and other events to raise funds for VOICE for Hearing Impaired Children.
"Every year in Ontario, approximately four in 1,000 children are born with or experience a hearing loss. Without support, these children are at risk for delayed language development which can negatively affect cognitive, emotional, and social capabilities. VOICE provides Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) to help children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak using their residual hearing or hearing technology. AVT can have a profound impact on the lives of children with hearing loss, but it is an expensive undertaking for VOICE," said Shane Todd, Member of the Board of Directors and Event Chair. "This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening of music while raising funds for AVT and other services for children with hearing loss."
Admission to "Raise Your Voice" is $40, which includes entertainment, free hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. Supporters who are not able to attend are encouraged to visit http://www.canadahelps.org/CharityProfilePage.aspx?charityID=s37293 to make a donation.
